John Redpath has joined Canoe Ventures as SVP, General Counsel of the company. Redpath has more than 30 years of experience, with most of his career spent at major media companies including HBO and Time Inc. Effective January 25, he reports to David Verklin, Chief Executive Officer of Canoe Ventures.
"We're pleased that John is joining Canoe's executive team," said David Verklin. "John brings a wealth of experience and relationships that are critical to Canoe as we introduce new products, drive collaboration and roll out innovative technologies into the television ecosystem."
Redpath comes to Canoe from the United States Golf Association, where he was Chief Legal Officer. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Time Inc. From 1978 � 2002, Redpath held a variety of legal positions at Home Box Office, including Executive Vice President and General Counsel.
He received a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and an LLM from NYU Law School. He is a cum laude graduate of Princeton and was in the US Navy from 1966 to 1969. Redpath serves on the Board of Directors of �Learning Leaders,� which is the largest school volunteer and parent engagement program in New York City.
