CANOE VENTURES NAMES CABLE INDUSTRY LEADERS TO EXECUTIVE TEAM

Michael Davis, Vicki Lins and Arthur Ordu�a to Manage Legal, Marketing and Technology Teams

NEW YORK, November 6, 2008 � Canoe Ventures, a joint venture founded by the country�s leading multi-system cable operators (MSOs) created to make their growing suite of advanced advertising solutions easier to buy, use and measure, today announced the appointment of several industry veterans to leading positions at the company. Michael Davis, formerly in-house counsel for CableLabs has been named General Counsel; Vicki Lins, formerly Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications at Comcast Spotlight is Chief Marketing Officer; and Arthur Ordu�a, formerly Senior Vice President of Product and Policy for Advance/Newhouse Communications, the owner of Bright House Networks, is now Chief Technology Officer for the organization. Based in New York City, Canoe Ventures is owned by the country�s largest MSOs and will combine the operators� research, knowledge and resources to deliver more value to advertisers, including a focus on addressability, interactivity, and data.

Before joining Canoe Ventures, Michael Davis served as in-house counsel for Cable Television Laboratories, Inc. (CableLabs) where he was responsible for providing legal and business counseling on a number of development projects including advanced advertising, Go2Broadband� and Tru2Way�, as well as on digital output, recording, copy protection and digital rights management technologies. Prior to working at CableLabs, Mr. Davis negotiated software licensing agreements for Lucent Technologies, and directed procurement, supply chain and various international and domestic product development activities for EchoStar Communications Corporation. Davis received a J.D. from the University of Denver, Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado, and a B.S. in Electronics Engineering Technology from the DeVry Institute.

Vicki Lins, who will lead the marketing and communications team, reporting to David Verklin, comes to Canoe Ventures from Comcast Spotlight, the advertising sales division of Comcast Cable, where she served as Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications. In this role, she managed all marketing functions including brand strategy, advertising, public relations, public affairs, promotions, creative services, and internal and external communications across the nearly 90 markets in which the company had a presence. While at Comcast Spotlight, she oversaw the re-branding of the division and led marketing initiatives to promote the use of spot cable�s multi-platform marketing solutions among local, regional and national advertisers. Lins has received numerous awards for her work. This year, Women in Cable & Telecommunications (WICT) recognized Lins with a WICT Accolade award, naming her a �Woman to Watch.� Prior to joining Comcast in 2002, Lins was Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communica tions at Adlink, the Los Angeles Interconnect. While there, she orchestrated an award winning marketing campaign for the first interconnect brand to be established. Before Adlink, Lins was employed by Verizon Wireless (formerly AirTouch Cellular) and GTE, where she held various marketing positions in the cellular, satellite, corporate and telephony divisions. Lins holds a Masters degree in Communication Management from the Annenberg School for Communication, University of Southern California.

Leading Canoe�s technology team, Arthur Ordu�a is driving the creation of shared processes and standards for more robust audience targeting, interactivity and measurement in multi-platform advertising on cable operators� systems across the country. Ordu�a has more than 20 years of experience in the media and interactive TV industries. He is credited for developing critical initiatives with standards bodies, industry organizations, and providers and is a long-time proponent of open standards-based initiatives and other cross-MSO projects to advance cable advertising technologies. He is an active member of SCTE, NCTA, and currently he is the chair of a Cable Labs Working Group that helped develop the EBIF technical specification for enhanced television. Ordu�a also is a member of NAMIC and CTAM, from which he received a Rainmaker Award in 2005. At Bright House Networks, Ordu�a was responsible for leading the company in developing new technology-based products and services. Prior to joining Advance/ Newhouse, Ordu�a was Vice President of Marketing for Canal+ Technologies where he led the global product development of digital interactive television software, applications and services. Prior to Canal+ Technologies, Ordu�a served as Vice President of marketing for DIAB-SDS, a wholly owned subsidiary of ISI, where he led the global marketing team. Ordu�a was part of the first Java-based deployment of a consumer device for digital television in 1996 with the rollout of HongKong Telecom�s set-top boxes. He has a B.A. from Cornell University and attended the MFA Graduate Program at NYU�s Tisch School.
